Brian ButlerCostume Designer, Shop manager, and Technologist

    Brian is currently the Assistant Professor of Professional Practice Costume Lab Manager at the Oklahoma State University, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He graduated from Purdue University with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Design/Technology in 2018.  Brian also received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design with emphasis in Costume Design and Makeup from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2014.

     He has designed, assisted, stitched, built and drafted a wide variety of shows ranging from Shakespeare, period pieces, fantasy, and modern styles in dance, theatre, musicals, and opera.

     In 2013, Brian studied at Rose Bruford College in Sidcup, Kent, United Kingdom for a year. He worked with their costume production program and worked backstage as a dresser and assistant for two London theatre shows Anne Boleyn (Stratford Circus), and The Litter (Bargehouse, London).

     Brian has worked as a stitcher/cutter/draper for Collin College in Plano, Texas and Circle theatre, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Brian worked at Summer Rep Theatre Festival in Santa Rosa, CA. as an assistant costume shop manager and cutter/draper. Over the summer, he works with Painted Sky Opera, in Oklahoma City, OK as one of the costume designer for their summer productions.
